This is something that I’ve been thinking about for a while. I think it definately has possibilities for a forum in a good niche. Of course I have been thinking about doing this for my forum, The Chalk Bucket. The problem is the cost.
To advertise a sixth of a page in USA Gymnastics Magazine, it costs $600 or $700 per month. This is very expensive for a small forum. Would the trade off be worth it…I’m not sure.
I would love to here from others out there that have tried this technique, let me know what it did for you. Were you able to get the magazine readers onto the computer so you could convert them?
I have seen a few people try this type of advertising for websites, but they never pull through with flying colours. Im sure that if you spent $6-700 on ReviewMe reviews, text links (maybe try ranking for a popular keyword), or CPC advertising, you would definitely see a better ROI from your money.
