Killer eCommerce Day!

$513.88, that’s our gross sales for today. Like I said…killer day! We’ve been averaging $200 per day so far this year, which is not bad. However, $500 is a whole new world.

Are we going to be able to keep this up?

Of course not, at least not right now. This does show that it is possible. We have had larger days, over $1000. Those days were all produced by one big order. The $513.88 was produced by 8 or 9 normal orders. Order volume is going up. That’s a great sign, you can never count on that huge order coming in when you need it. Even if it does come in, it might not be in stock.

Just thought this was a great thing to post about…kind of a milestone.

Until next time,

Congrats on your day! I just found your site and was curious about your ecommerce site. I don’t see it mentioned anywhere. What is the URL? I’m looking into starting an ecommerce site and love seeing other successful ones out there.

Congrats!

My site is a gymnastics pro shop….http://www.leotardcrazy.com. Under the header of my site there is a link to “websites”. My sites are all described there. My successful sites are all in the niche of gymnastics. I am a full time gym coach…my wife is also.

Great. The site looks nice. What is the shopping cart you’re using?

I use Miva Merchant 5. It’s very easy to get going and it can do almost anything you want with 3rd party mods. The Miva community is very close, they will help you with anything you need.

The drawback is the cost of the mods. Soon after opening your store you will find that you need more functionality. Mods run from $10 to $300. I like the idea of buying mods…then I know I will always have someone that supports them.

If you are going to use Miva, you must have a good host. Vic Vega at Wolfpaw (wpcomp.com) is second to none. He is very active in the Miva community. I started with a cheap host and soon found out why they were cheap.
