Grats. I've been wanting to start my own forums, but it seems like an almost impossible task to get people in there to start posting.

Hey J.B.,

I dropped by the forum and it looked great. Keep up the good work. Btw, I found something interesting that your members as well as yourself might be interested in. There's a really cool contest with Miranda Lambert right now. It's to design a poster for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and the prize is concert tickets and a meet and greet with Miranda.

Take a look at the contest : http://www.brickfish.com/music/MirandaLambert?tab=1&=Miranda .

I've thought about trying to open a forum a few times, then began thinking about how I would feel seeing lonely, empty post categories day in and day out.

Maybe once I get something that I'd like enough to put a forum together about....

The guy at DormEarning apparently has some forums that do well. http://www.dormearning.com/ is the url. He might be able to point you in the right direction.

I started a new directory one time and it took forever to get people rolling in. Your forum looks great though and once the momentum picks up, you won't have time to keep track of it all!

I don't want to...we just moved from Cali to Wisconsin, I got a new job, had our second daughter, and drop from 2 incomes to 1. Something had to give for a while, it was this.

Actually, I have been letting most of my site slide a bit over the last month. My new job is more demanding than I had expected.

Let me get my comfortable life back...then the blog will come back.

Hi there. The forum looks good, but I'm afraid Country music is not my thing, otherwise I would sign up. I really like the design!

I found this blog, and from here, your forum, through your advertising on Tyler's blog.

I don't have any experience with running forums, but I recently joined a new one and have seen it grow to nearly 1000 members in a few short months. I imagine it must be even harder than driving traffic to a normal site to begin with, but once there is content, it should snowball.

Just a suggestion for advertising and bringing new people in. Have you thought of creating a free ebook and giving it away, as an advertising tool? I've done this on ebay before, and have had great success. (Low price is just as good). It looks like you might need to target your niche a little more, although I don't know what advertising you've done besides the add on TylerCruz.com.

I've also found writing simple articles and submitting them to article directories to be great at bringing in targetted traffic.

Hope these suggestions help and you don't feel I'm trying to hand out unasked for advice.

That's fantastic news - make sure you don't lose the momentum. Ensure you reply to their posts and continue to engage them and encourage further interaction.
